Los Alamos Medical Center is seeking a Cat Scan (CT) Technician for a PRN, as-needed role in Los Alamos, NM. The position requires an NM Radiologic Technologist license and CT registry within 1 year of hire.

You will prepare patients, perform scans, monitor status, and ensure image quality with appropriate safety protocols. Ideal candidates hold an ARRT/JRCERT/NMTCB-accredited program in Radiologic Technology and an associate's degree, with opportunities for ongoing professional development and

Qualifications

• Must hold a current NM Radiologic Technologist license.
• ARRT, JRCERT, ARMRIT, or NMTCB registry in Radiology, Radiation Therapy, MR, or Nuclear Medicine required.
• ARRT Registry in Computed Tomography (CT) required within 1 year of hire/transfer.

Responsabilités

• Review patient history and physician orders.
• Educate patients about procedures, equipment, and exam to ensure understanding and cooperation.
• Prepare and administer contrast media or medications within scope of practice when ordered.
• Monitor patient condition and respond to changes as appropriate.
• Prepare equipment and supplies for imaging procedures.
• Follow safety standards and perform QC procedures on equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions as necessary.
• Position patient and perform imaging procedures.
• Analyze results and address image quality issues; adjust as needed.
• Enter and report scan results.

How you'll contribute

• Reviews patient history and physician's orders.
• Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
• When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
• Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
• Prepares equipment and supplies.
• Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment.
• Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
• Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s).
• Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.
• Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure.
• Enters, transmits and reports scan results.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current NM Radiologic Technologist license and be a graduate of an ARRT, JRCERT, ARMRIT, or NMTCB accredited program in Radiologic Technology, Radiation Therapy, MR, or Nuclear Medicine required with an associate's degree preferred. Additional requirements include:

• Certification/License:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) current upon hire.
  • ARRT, JRCERT, ARMRIT, or NMTCB registry in Radiology, Radiation Therapy, MR, or Nuclear Medicine Registry required.
  • ARRT Registry in Computed Tomography (CT) required (within 1 year hire/transfer).
  • If not ARRT(CT) upon hire, you must work under the supervision of an ARRT(CT) technologist until your ARRT(CT) is obtained.
