Job summary

Wagner Equipment Co. seeks an EPG Field Service Class B Technician to diagnose, repair, and service Caterpillar power generation equipment at customer sites. This role requires extensive field travel and hands-on electrical/mechanical diagnostics, with emphasis on safety and reliability.

You will perform startups, load-bank tests, and commissioning, collaborating with Service, Parts, Engineering, and Sales teams. Requires 3+ years in CAT genset service and strong customer service experience.

Qualifications

• Diagnose and repair CAT generators and power generation equipment.
• Troubleshoot diesel engines, electrical systems, and generator controls.
• Maintain strong focus on customer service and safety.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair Caterpillar diesel and natural gas generator sets.
• Troubleshoot alternators, voltage regulators, circuit breakers, batteries, and control systems.
• Inspect, test, and troubleshoot transfer switches, switchgear, and paralleling systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled service activities.
• Complete startups, commissioning checks, load-bank tests, and transfer tests.
• Communicate repair status and equipment readiness to teams.
