TÜV Rheinland Industrial Services (TRIS) seeks a CAT 2 Inspection Engineer to be based from our Warrington office. The role involves inspecting pressurised equipment and ensuring compliance with WSE and regulatory requirements.

Training is provided, with a hybrid working arrangement and a comprehensive benefits package. Responsibilities include coordinating NDT, reviewing calculations, and supporting RBI studies while maintaining high attention to detail and strong communication with colleagues

Qualifications

• Solid background in mechanical engineering and pressure systems.
• Experience with WSE preparation and inspection planning.
• Knowledge of NDT methods and risk-based inspection concepts.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and review Written Schemes of Examination (WSE).
• Coordinate NDT providers for extensive requirements.
• Carry out examinations as per WSE and assess deterioration.
• Review design calculations and sentence defects.
• Coordinate repairs and participate in RBI studies.
• Produce clear inspection reports with photographs.

Inspection Engineer CAT 2 – Pressure Equipment

Job Summary

As part of the TUV family, TUV Rheinland Industrial Services (TRIS) are looking to recruit a CAT 2 Inspection Engineer to be based from our Warrington office.

We are seeking experenced inspectors to join our growing Industrial team to provide Inspection and Certification of pressurised static equipment e.g. vessels, tanks, piping, relief devices, to meet regulatory and client requirements.

Job Description

• Preparing and reviewing Written Schemes of Examination (WSE)
• Identifying preparation requirements from the WSE
• Examination in accordance with the WSE
• Undertaking simple NDT – ultrasonic thickness checks, magnetic particle, dye penetrant
• Coordination of NDT providers for extensive requirements or specialist methods,
• Preparation of clear reports including photographs
• Assessment of deterioration
• Reviewing design calculations and sentencing defects
• Coordinating repairs.
• Participation in Risk Based Inspection studies

Education / Certificates

• HNC/Degree Mechanical Engineering,or equivalent (essential)
• UKAS RG 2 In-Service Inspection of Pressure Systems (essential)
• Incorporated Engineer status (desirable)

Experience & Skills

• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Eye for detail
• Ability to accurately follow procedures
• Understanding of engineering principles
• Able to make and defend difficult decisions
• Ability to interact and work with others
• Mechanical Engineering background
• Chemical and/or oil and gas sector experience (desirable)
• Understanding of fabrication or repair of pressure equipment (desirable)
• Experience of non-destructive examination techniques (desirable)
• Man-management experience (desirable)
• Successful applicants must meet the UKAS definition for category 2 inspection engineers as seen below:

Category 2. Incorporated Engineer as defined by Engineering Council or equivalent (e.g. appropriate HNC with relevant experience, (vocational qualification level 4) including at least 5 years’ experience within a relevant engineering discipline of which at least one year** shall have been spent working within an engineering discipline associated with the relevant field of inspection.
