UPMC Presbyterian hospital is looking for a casual Pharmacy Technician to join their team!

The Pharmacy Technician provides pharmaceutical care to patients within the UPMC Health System by assisting with sterile and nonsterile medication preparation, medication filling, and medication distribution. The Pharmacy Technician, Associate services are provided in compliance with Department of Health, The Joint Commission, and State Board of Pharmacy regulations.

Qualifications

Completion of high school diploma or equivalent required.
Completion of an accredited pharmacy technician program.
Six months of previous pharmacy technician experience.
Six months experience as a Pharmacy Assistant within the UPMC Health System.
Enrollment in an undergraduate pharmacy program and in good standing.

Responsibilities

Fill medication orders through correct labeling, counting, and stocking practices.
Prepare proper oral and injectable medications, including IV admixtures and TPN when needed.
Participate in distribution of medication and handling of controlled substances per policy and state/federal requirements.
Maintain accurate records for controlled substances and comply with HIPAA, OSHA, and CMS requirements.
