UPMC East in Monroeville, PA is hiring a casual Pharmacy Technician to join our team. The role supports sterile and nonsterile medication preparation, medication filling, and distribution, with daylight and evening shifts and rotating weekend/holiday responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy technician with sterile and nonsterile preparation experience.
• Experience handling IV admixtures and TPN.
• Knowledge of aseptic technique and hazardous drug handling.
• Ability to document and maintain records and logs.
• Familiarity with HIPAA and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Fill medication orders with correct labeling, counting and stocking.
• Prepare oral and injectable medications including IV admixtures/TPN.
• Work in sterile product area handling cytotoxic and hazardous drugs.
• Distribute medications and manage medication carts and controlled substances.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure proper storage per regulations.
• Assist in training pharmacy personnel and students.
• Maintain clean, organized work environment and inventory.
• Comply with HIPAA, OSHA, and PBM requirements.
• Provide information to hospital staff, patients, and visitors.
• Use computer systems to process patient information and records.
