Job summary

Excela Health in Pennsylvania is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support the medication distribution system under the Pharmacist's supervision. You will fill orders, prep medications, and assist with IV preparations according to USP 797/800 guidelines.

You will handle inventory, restock cabinets and automate devices, coordinate with nursing staff, and ensure proper documentation and compliance. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have current registration to function as a pharmacy technician with the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy (SBOP) or be registered as a pharmacy technician trainee (not to exceed 2 years cumulative as a trainee).
• If registered as a technician trainee, renewal must occur every 6 months (not to exceed 2 years cumulative).
• Strong organizational skills, independent/critical thinking, sound judgment and knowledge of liability in nursing practice.
• Strong ability to communicate complex topics to a wide and diverse audience.

Responsibilities

• Fill new medication orders and cassettes and prepare for Pharmacist review.
• Deliver and retrieve medications to/from patient care areas.
• Maintain inventory and restock automated dispensing cabinets (e.g., Acudose).
• Prepare IV medications and parenteral nutrition per USP 797/800 guidelines for review.
• Coordinate pre-packaging and communication with other campuses.
