Job summary

Independence Health System is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist with medication distribution under Pharmacist supervision in a hospital setting. The role covers processing orders, preparing cassettes, dispensing to patient care areas, and operating the Cerner Pharmacy system and automated equipment.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, Pennsylvania SBOP registration, and strong organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Current PA SBOP registration as pharmacy technician
• Able to pass background checks and clearances (Act 34)
• Strong organizational, communication and judgment skills
• Ability to work in hospital setting; IV training/experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Fill new medication orders and cassettes for pharmacist review
• Deliver and retrieve medications to patient care areas
• Restock IV room and automated dispensing cabinets
• Prepare IV medications per USP 797/800 guidelines
• Maintain inventory and ensure proper labeling and documentation
