Job summary

Westfields Hospital & Clinic is seeking a casual Security Officer to help maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors and staff. The role involves patrols, incident reporting, and assisting during emergencies, with shifts covering days or nights to support vacation and sick coverage.

The position requires a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, and healthcare security experience is preferred. This is a part-time, on-site role supervised by the Security Operations Manager.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid, unrestricted driver’s license is required.
• Experience in security preferred, especially in healthcare settings.

Responsibilities

• Patrol all hospital areas and off-site properties daily.
• Respond to emergencies and urgent requests from departments.
• Support staff, visitors and patients with safety escorts and access control.
• Investigate incidents and complete follow-up reports.
• Maintain accurate shift documentation and payroll sign-ins.
• Facilitate quick registration for patients entering the emergency department.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Security Operations Manager.
• Contribute to a culture of patient safety and safety event reporting.
