Job summary

Choice in Aging is seeking a Care Professional - Casual to support program activities and assist frail elders and adults with disabilities under supervision of the Activity Coordinator and Program Director. You will help participants with daily living tasks and document daily interactions and wellbeing.

This role emphasizes respectful, person-centered care, confidentiality, teamwork, and reliable communication.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Clear TB test and Livescan background check.
Clear verbal and written English communication.
Ability to loudly project voice for hearing impaired clients.
Ability to work as a team member.

Responsibilities

Lead and assist with program activities to encourage client participation.
Provide care respecting individuality and dignity.
Promote personhood and an environment of trust.
Build one-on-one relationships with participants.
Understand each participant’s likes, background, and needs.
Interact with participants with constructive conversation and companionship.
Assist with activities of daily living (toileting, feeding, ambulation, transfers, grooming, etc.).
Provide safety supervision and emotional support.
Maintain cleanliness of the program area and assist with cleaning duties.
Assist with food preparation, serving meals, and cleanup.
Complete client documentation and logs.
Ensure confidentiality in all matters of client care.
