Job summary

Castlehcc is seeking an Activity Assistant/Aide to support planning, implementing, and evaluating recreational and social programs in a long‑term care setting. You will help create a warm, engaging environment and assist residents with crafts, outings, and daily activities as directed by supervisors.

The role emphasizes teamwork with other departments, attention to resident comfort, and careful documentation of progress and responses to services.

Qualifications

• Experience in Long Term Care Activities Department preferred.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, and ability to handle residents at varying maturity levels.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, organize, implement and evaluate activity programs.
• Observe resident attendance, mood, behavior and involvement; document progress.
• Maintain warm, personal, positive atmosphere in the facility.
• Prepare activity rooms and arrange equipment and supplies.
• Assist in daily activities per the care plan and chart progress notes.
• Stock and purchase department supplies and resident items as needed.
• Protect resident confidentiality and follow care guidelines.
• Supervise residents during activities to promote well‑being.
• Offer in‑room visits, assist with crafts and errands as required.
