Job summary

Boom Technology, Inc. is building a casting unit for its supersonic jet engine program. You will help design, test, and operate the first heats, ensuring safe, high-quality melts and pours while coordinating with engineers and technicians.

In this hands-on role, you’ll own safety, consult on equipment installation, and develop procedures that guide the unit from concept to production, contributing to a pioneering aerospace effort.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on foundry or melt shop experience.
• Nickel/cobalt superalloys, steels, or titanium experience; vacuum melting (VIM) a strong plus.
• Strong mechanical craft: tools, rigging, alignment, assembly, and PM ownership.
• Experience with power, cooling water, vacuum systems, and inert gas utilities.

Responsibilities

• Guide the buildout of the casting unit from concept to first heat, including layout and vendor engagement.
• Develop and validate melt/pour procedures, maintenance plans, and spares systems.
• Execute melt/pour operations as the unit comes online with proper documentation.
• Collaborate with engineers and technicians to flag issues early and drive decisions.
• Ensure safety by foreseeing hazards and helping specify interlocks and containment.
