Harley-Davidson Motor Company’s Product Development Center (PDC) in Wauwatosa, WI is seeking a Supplier Process Development Engineer (Casting) to translate product requirements into capable supplier manufacturing processes. You will lead APQP and PPAP activities, reduce launch risk, and drive world-class quality with supplier collaboration.

The role demands deep expertise in high-pressure die casting, DFMEA/PFMEA, and control plans, along with significant travel (50–75%).

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years related experience.
• Strong leadership, analytical, communication, interpersonal, and technical skills.
• Experience maturing and derisking casting designs and processes for serial production.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight and technical direction for die casting designs and manufacturing processes.
• Evaluate design concepts to improve casting quality, reduce cycle time, and enhance product quality.
• Drive APQP while increasing supplier knowledge and accountability to PDP.
• Confirm engineering design readiness through DFMEA, PRDs, drawings and validation activities.
• Reduce development rework by validating supplier production processes and control readiness.
• Improve supplier quality performance through risk assessment and continuous improvement of controls.
• Identify risks and assist with launch readiness risks and production quality issues.
• Track and drive progress against key quality metrics.
• Influence supplier selection with data-driven quality assessments.
