Job summary

The Harley-Davidson Motor Company Product Development Center in Wauwatosa, WI is seeking a Supplier Process Development Engineer (Casting) to ensure supplier processes meet product requirements through APQP, PPAP, risk management and production readiness.

You will drive DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans and gaging, reduce launch risk, and collaborate with Global Supply Chain, Engineering, Service and Manufacturing Operations to deliver high-quality, reliable product.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of related experience in casting or manufacturing processes.
• Strong leadership, communication, and technical skills to mature casting designs with suppliers.
• Significant travel (50% - 75%) is expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight and technical direction for die casting designs and manufacturing processes
• Evaluate design concepts to improve casting quality, cycle time, porosity, tool life and efficiency
• Drive structured supplier quality activities (APQP) with PDP alignment
• Confirm engineering readiness via DFMEA, PRDs, drawings and validation
• Develop and validate supplier production processes and control readiness
• Improve supplier quality (PPM) through risk, capability development and controls
• Identify risks and resolve launch readiness and quality spills with suppliers
• Track progress against key quality and performance metrics
• Influence supplier selection with data-driven quality assessments
