Job summary

Jobot, a leading manufacturer, seeks a Design Engineer in Cedar Rapids, IA to design tooling with SolidWorks for ductile iron casting programs and validate designs using MAGMA simulations. You will drive yield improvements and collaborate with customers and account managers on new product development.

The role requires at least an Associate degree in engineering (Bachelor's preferred) and hands-on CAD experience, with a strong manufacturing background in foundry or tooling design; CNC machining

Qualifications

• Associate degree in engineering or related field; bachelor s degree preferred.
• Two or more years hands-on CAD modeling, blueprint reading and DFM knowledge.
• Manufacturing background in foundry, tooling design, casting simulation or CNC machining is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving and cross-team communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Build and refine tooling using SolidWorks in support of ductile iron casting programs.
• Run casting simulations in MAGMA to validate designs before they hit the floor.
• Own yield improvement and continuous improvement work across the casting process
• Partner directly with customers and account managers on new product development
• Support quoting, product launches, testing and validation from start to finish
• Bring new technology and process improvements into the operation
