Hadrian is hiring a Build Engineer, Castings to own large structural castings from design review through qualification and production handoff. You will coordinate with Design, Supply Chain, and foundries to define builds, quality levels, and acceptance criteria. This role is based in Kutztown, PA with LA-based options and travel to the foundry.

You will drive DFM, reverse engineering, and process definitions for high-yield steel castings, ensuring quality and cost targets are met across programs.

Qualifikationen

• Minimum 5+ years in build, manufacturing, or casting engineering with direct ownership of large castings.
• Ability to interpret product requirements from customer specifications and translate to casting requirements and inspection needs.
• Experience defining and managing BOMs, work orders, and instructions in PLM/ERP/MES.
• Knowledge of NDT methods (RT/UT/MT/PT) and acceptance criteria flow from requirements.
• Strong GD&T and 3D CAD skills; experience with large steel castings.
• Experience on a foundry floor coordinating melt, molding, heat treatment, and inspection teams.

Aufgaben

• Interpret and define product requirements and translate into casting requirements, quality levels, and inspection needs.
• Reverse engineer castings from legacy drawings or incomplete data to establish design intent and build sequence.
• Review models for castability, wall thickness, draft, parting lines, and NDT access; drive changes before design freeze.
• Own end-to-end casting route from pattern through pour, heat treatment, inspection, to machining handoff.
• Define high-level process for each operation (alloy, heat treatment, NDT, cycle time) and hand to engineering teams.
• Own patterns, core boxes, and inspection fixtures with clear ownership and revision control.
• Build and maintain BOM structures, work orders, and instructions in PLM/ERP/MES; ensure configuration control.
