Job summary

Penn Entertainment, operator of Hollywood Casino St. Louis, is seeking a Casino Barback.

Shift varies; you will provide fast, friendly service to guests, bartenders, and team members, promote casino events, and act as a goodwill ambassador while helping ensure a clean, safe bar area. Requirements include being 21+, a high school diploma, and English fluency; you must be able to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime, tolerate smoke and noise, and lift up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Provide fast, friendly, professional service to guests, servers, and bartenders.
• Monitor guest alcohol consumption and intervene as needed.

• Assist with stocking, beer kegs, ice, and bar equipment.
• Work well with team members and supervisors to ensure great service.
• Respond to cues and maintain safety standards in a busy environment.
• Support other bar staff as needed to keep service smooth.

Responsibilities

As a Casino Barback, you will: Shift: Varies

• Provides fast, friendly, professional service to casino guests, beverage servers, and bartenders.
• Monitors guest consumption of alcohol and intervenes as needed according to guidelines.
• Serves as ambassador of goodwill while working and at customer and public relations functions.
• Promotes casino events and programs.
• Provides personalized service and uses guest name.
• Resolves service problems according to guidelines.
• Works well with others, especially beverage servers, bartenders, other barbacks, Beverage Supervisors, and Casino Supervisors.
• Maintains par levels of operating supplies and equipment for each bar, obtaining replacement stock from Warehouse inventory in accordance with procedure.
• Places liquors, fruits, glassware, linen, silverware, paper supplies, and sundries in their designated places following established storage guidelines and safety procedures.
• Replaces empty draught beer kegs as may be required.
• Slices and pits fruit; fills ice bins with crushed or cubed ice from designated ice machines.
• Operates and maintains all equipment and utensils as required in accordance with established guidelines and safety procedures.
• Removes and properly disposes of all debris accumulated at the bar in accordance with departmental procedures.
• Wipes counter areas, sinks, and floors as required to maintain a clean and safe work station.
• Maintains cleanliness of designated areas as directed in accordance with established health and safety standards.

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Read, write legibly, understand, and speak English.
• Excellent customer service/communication skills.
• Available to work required schedule which may include nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
• Must meet professional appearance standards as prescribed by company policy.
• Must be able to respond to visual and oral cues.
• Able to work in constricting areas.
• Able to tolerate second-hand smoke, noise, and bright lights.
• Able to work at a fast pace in often crowded/noisy environment.
• Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations including ability to push, pull, carry, and lift up to 25 lbs., and the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel, and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.
