Overview

Cashiers greet and thank every customer entering and leaving the store. They must be proficient in all aspects of the Cavender's Boot City cashiering system and knowledgeable about all related paperwork. Responsibilities include keeping the store neat and clean, answering phones professionally, and supporting management with tasks such as stocking, visual displays, and special orders.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Support the "Cavender's Culture" and promote our Mission, Vision, and Values.
2. Perform cashiering tasks accurately and efficiently.
3. Maintain a neat, clean, and organized work area.
4. Be knowledgeable about CBC policies and cashiering transactions, including cash sales, check sales, non-taxable sales, credit cards, voids, and exchanges.
5. Enter all sales and monies into the register at the time of sale.
6. Assist with stocking merchandise and store organization.
7. Promote store specials and suggest add-on purchases to customers.
8. Report to work promptly, dressed appropriately, and groomed neatly.
9. Remain security-conscious at all times.
10. Provide knowledgeable responses to phone inquiries regarding sales, promotions, store location, pricing, and inventory.
11. Stay updated on current sale promotions.
12. Practice inventory control, especially for boots, and check for mis-matched items.
13. Follow company policies on all commission sales and validate sales tickets.
14. Perform other duties as assigned and work with supervisors to meet company goals.

Qualifications and Requirements

1. Ability to frequently raise or lower objects during shifts.
2. Ability to understand and interpret basic instructions and documents.
3. Ability to apply abstract principles to complex tasks.
4. Effective verbal communication skills in English.
5. Ability to analyze information and write reports.
