Overview

Cashiers greet and thank every customer entering and leaving the store. They must be proficient in all aspects of the Cavender's Boot City cashiering system and knowledgeable of all related paperwork. Responsibilities include maintaining store cleanliness, answering phones professionally, and supporting management with tasks like stocking, visual displays, and special orders.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Support the company's culture and uphold its mission, vision, and values.
2. Perform cashiering tasks accurately and efficiently.
3. Maintain a neat, clean, and organized work area.
4. Be knowledgeable about CBC policies, procedures, and cashiering transactions such as cash sales, check sales, non-taxable sales, credit cards, voids, and exchanges.
5. Record all sales and cash accurately at the time of transaction.
6. Assist with stocking merchandise and store organization.
7. Promote store specials and suggest add-on purchases to customers.
8. Arrive promptly, well-groomed, and dressed appropriately.
9. Remain security conscious and professional at all times.
10. Respond knowledgeably to phone inquiries regarding sales, promotions, store location, pricing, and inventory.
11. Stay updated on current promotions and inventory, especially boots.
12. Follow company policies on commission sales and validate sales tickets.
13. Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned and collaborate with supervisors to meet company goals.

Qualifications and Requirements

1. Ability to lift or lower objects regularly during shifts.
2. Basic comprehension skills and ability to interpret documents.
3. Apply abstract principles to complex tasks.
4. Effective verbal communication in English.
