Overview

Cashiers are responsible for greeting and thanking every customer entering and leaving the store. They must be proficient in all aspects of the Cavender's Boot City cashiering system and knowledgeable of all related paperwork. Cashiers also maintain store cleanliness, answer phones professionally, and support management with tasks such as stocking, visual displays, and special orders.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Support the company's culture and uphold its mission, vision, and values.
• Perform cashiering tasks accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain a neat, clean, and organized work area.
• Be knowledgeable of CBC policies, procedures, and cashiering transactions including sales, checks, non-taxable sales, credit cards, voids, and exchanges.
• Enter all sales and cash accurately at the time of transaction.
• Assist with stocking merchandise and store organization.
• Promote store specials and suggest add-on purchases to customers.
• Report to work promptly, groomed appropriately, and dressed according to company standards.
• Remain security-conscious at all times.
• Respond knowledgeably to phone inquiries regarding sales, promotions, store location, pricing, and inventory.
• Stay updated on current sales promotions and inventory control, especially for boots.
• Follow company policies on commission sales and validate sales tickets.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned and work with supervisors to meet company goals.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Ability to regularly lift objects from one level to another during shifts.
• Basic comprehension of instructions and ability to interpret documents.
