Overview

Head Cashiers greet and thank every customer entering and leaving the store. They must be proficient in all aspects of the Cavender's Boot City cashiering system and knowledgeable of all related paperwork. Responsibilities include maintaining store cleanliness, answering phones professionally, and supporting management with tasks like stocking, visual displays, and special orders.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Support the "Cavender's Culture" by embodying our Mission, Vision, and Values
2. Perform cashiering tasks accurately and efficiently
3. Maintain a neat, clean, and organized work area
4. Be knowledgeable of CBC policies, procedures, and cashiering transactions (cash sales, check sales, non-taxable sales, credit cards, voids, exchanges)
5. Enter all sales and monies into the register at the time of sale
6. Assist with stocking merchandise and store organization
7. Promote store specials and suggest add-on purchases to customers
8. Report to work promptly, groomed appropriately, and dressed suitably
9. Remain security conscious at all times
10. Provide knowledgeable responses to phone inquiries about sales, promotions, store location, pricing, and inventory
11. Stay updated on sale promotions and practice inventory control on boots
12. Check for boot mis-mates and validate all sales tickets
13. Follow company policies on all commission sales
14. Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned
15. Collaborate with supervisors to meet company goals (e.g., ADS, UPTs, vendor promotions)

Qualifications and Requirements

1. Ability to lift or lower objects regularly during shifts
2. Ability to understand and interpret basic instructions and documents
3. Apply abstract principles to complex tasks
4. Effective verbal communication skills in English
5. Ability to analyze information and write reports
