The Salvation Army store in Madisonville, KY is seeking a part-time associate to assist customers with donations, selections, and purchases. You will operate the cash register, respond to questions, and help maintain clean displays and organized inventory in the warehouse area.

Qualifications include a High School diploma or GED and the ability to read, write, and communicate in English. Prior retail experience is preferred, with benefits included for this part-time role and PTO available.

Schedule/Hours: 28 hours per weekThis position is responsible for:Assists store customers in donating, selecting, and purchasing store items; operates and maintains a cash register; responds to customers’ questions; maintains the cleanliness and orderliness of the store displays; ensures the security of store items and the cash register.Receives, sorts, and prepares donated items for display in the store; determines their suitability based on established standards; assists in maintaining the orderliness and cleanliness of the warehouse area.Key Responsibilities:Receives, inspects, and sorts donated items such as clothes, shoes, household items, bric-a-brack, etc., according to the category and condition.Selects items suitable for store display and distributes them to the appropriate area for further sorting and pricing; discards items according to established procedures.Hang clothes on hangers and place them on clothes racks.Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:Ability to meet attendance requirements.Ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language.Ability to operate a cash register.Ability to perform routine mathematical computations and count change.Ability to perform frequent walking and/or standing, kneeling, or squatting relieved by lesser periods of sitting.Physical ability to lift, carry, and/or push/pull light objects (less than 25 lbs.).Moderate mobility: duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis.
