The Salvation Army is seeking a part-time Store Clerk to assist customers, operate the cash register, and handle donated items for sale. The role includes ringing up sales, processing payments, and delivering bank deposits according to procedures.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED, and retail experience preferred.
• Experience in customer service and cash handling is a plus.

• Collect monies, counts change, and prepares receipts; prepares and packages purchased items; prepares and balances the cash drawer and runs routine register printouts.
• Prepares and delivers bank deposits; ensures the security and accountability of all cash register funds and sales records in accordance with established operating procedures.
• Receives, inspects, and sorts donated items such as clothes, shoes, household items, bric-a-brac, etc. according to the category and condition.
• Lifts and carries items to the appropriate destination for further processing, storage or displaying in store.
• Maintains warehouse area in a neat and orderly manner; cleans floors, tables, and work areas.

Schedule/Hours: Part time - 25-28 weeklyThis position is responsible for:The Store Clerk function may include a regular shift as part of the daily workload. Heavy mobility duties are usually performed by combinations of standing, walking, climbing ladders or steps, bending, reaching, or transporting merchandise on frequent change basis relieved by fewer periods of sitting.Work is performed in a stock room, warehouse, or store environment where there are discomforts associated with changes in weather.
