Job summary

Responsibilities

• Greet customers as they enter and exit the Café
• Create and serve food and beverage items
• Promote daily specials and encourage upgrades to each order
• Operate cash register, process payments through cash or credit card handling and/or member account charges
• Conduct café opening and/or closing duties as required
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment according to state and local food safety standards
• Understand and anticipate the needs of our members and guests; be attentive, listen carefully, and follow through to provide exceptional customer service
• Communicate timely and follow up as appropriate
• Participate actively in events, programs, meetings, and training
• Represent the club professionally through image, dress, communication, and timely follow‑through and response
• Adapt to a schedule that may require weekend, holiday, weekday, and evening hours

Skills & Knowledge

• Ability to read, understand, analyze, and interpret general training manuals, professional journals, or technical procedures; ability to present information clearly and respond to questions from children, managers, Associates, members, and the general public.
• Ability to identify problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions and manage both abstract and concrete variables.

Experience

• Minimum one (1) year of customer service experience (food‑service industry experience preferred)
• Food Safety certification
• Professional, friendly manner and excellent customer‑service attitude and abilities
• Strong verbal communication and conflict resolution skills
• Enthusiastic, responsible, and dependable team player
• Self‑motivated, takes initiative, anticipates the needs of others, and is willing to acquire new skills

Physical Requirements

Employees must stand for extended periods, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. Occasionally walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; taste or smell. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus. Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Estimated Base Pay Range

$16.90 per hour
