Job summary

Southcoast Health in New Bedford, MA is seeking a Cashier-Retail at St. Luke’s Hospital. This 24-32 hour flex position includes day/evening shifts with weekend and holiday rotation.

You will support the Retail area of the Food & Nutrition Department, handling cashier duties, stocking, dating and labeling items, and maintaining clean, sanitary work stations. The ideal candidate follows written instructions, has basic food safety knowledge, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Follow written instructions.
• Experience with proper food safety/sanitary procedures preferred.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal influenza and COVID-19 or exempt with signed statement.

Responsibilities

• Support Retail areas of the Food & Nutrition Department including cashier duties.
• Set up, operate, and break down all stations; ensure sanitation.
• Date, label, and rotate food items before storage or sale.
• Use proper utensils to ensure accurate portions.

Hours: 24 flex 32hrs

Shift: Day/Evening shift with weekend and holiday rotation; 9:00am - 5:30pm

Location: St. Luke’s Hospital – New Bedford, MA

Available to regular status employees who are scheduled to work a minimum of 24 hours.

Responsibilities

Position reports to the Manager, Food & Nutrition Services or designee. Provide support for the Retail areas of the Food & Nutrition Department including Cashier Duties set up all stations and perform positions, break down stations completely ensuring they are cleaned and sanitized. Clean and sanitize equipment, and food surfaces according to procedures. Assure that all food items are accurately dated, labeled, and rotated prior to storage and or placed for sale. Use proper utensils to ensure accurate portions. Performs other reasonable duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow written instructions.
• Experience with proper food safety/sanitary procedures are preferred.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.
• Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.

Pay Range

USD $16.47 - USD $23.41 /Hr.
