Job summary

Southcoast Health is seeking a Cashier-Retail at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford, MA. This per diem position involves supporting the Retail areas of the Food & Nutrition Department, setting up stations, and performing cashier duties.

Shifts vary from 6:00am–2:30pm, 9:00am–5:30pm, 5:30am–2:00pm, and 7:00am–3:30pm, with weekend and holiday rotation. Responsibilities include cleaning and sanitizing work areas and equipment, dating and rotating food items, and portion control.

• Ability to follow written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for the Retail areas of the Food & Nutrition Department including cashiers.
• Set up all stations and perform positions, break down stations completely ensuring they are cleaned and sanitized.
• Clean and sanitize equipment and food surfaces according to procedures.
• Ensure all food items are dated, labeled, and rotated prior to storage or sale.
• Use proper utensils to ensure accurate portions.

Hours: Per Diem

Shift: Day shift with weekend and holiday rotation; 6:00am - 2:30pm, 9:00am - 5:30pm, 5:30am - 2:00pm and 7:00am - 3:30pm

**Available to regular status employees who are scheduled to work a minimum of 24 hours.

Position reports to the Manager, Food & Nutrition Services or designee. Provide support for the Retail areas of the Food & Nutrition Department including Cashier Duties set up all stations and perform positions, break down stations completely ensuring they are cleaned and sanitized. Clean and sanitize equipment, and food surfaces according to procedures. Assure that all food items are accurately dated, labeled, and rotated prior to storage and or placed for sale. Use proper utensils to ensure accurate portions. Performs other reasonable duties as assigned.

• Ability to follow written instructions.
• Experience with proper food safety/sanitary procedures are preferred.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.
• Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.
