About C-A-L Ranch Stores

C-A-L Ranch Stores was founded in 1959 in Idaho Falls, ID, by Clinton, Allen, and L. Wayne Murphy. The family used their initials C-A-L to create their brand. Our first store, located in Idaho Falls, ID, was called C-A-L Ranch & Farm Supply. The store had less than 3,000 square feet, primarily selling tillage tools and hardware. After over 60 years, C-A-L Ranch Stores has expanded from a single store to a regional retailer with multiple locations in Idaho, Utah, Nevada, and Arizona. Although no longer owned by the Murphys, it remains privately held, with current owners upholding the company's core mission and values.

What You’ll Do

The cashier role is vital in our organization. As the face of C-A-L Ranch Stores, you will be the primary contact for customers. It’s essential to represent the company with professionalism, courtesy, and excellent customer service, maintaining a friendly and positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Provide legendary customer service, greeting and acknowledging every guest, maintaining high standards, and demonstrating product knowledge.
• Stay informed about product information, promotions, and advertisements.
• Assist with floor moves, merchandising, display maintenance, and store cleanliness.
• Help process and replenish merchandise, and monitor floor stock.
• Follow all company policies, including signing, pricing, and loss prevention procedures.
• Complete sales transactions accurately, maintaining proper cash and media accountability at POS registers.
• Communicate guest requests to management.
• Maintain a balanced cash drawer and operate the inventory system for price checks and look-ups.
• Handle cash, checks, credit/debit cards, and receipts efficiently.
• Verify register totals against cash on hand, and process refunds or credits per store policies.
• Operate the cash register, scan items, and display purchase details.
• Watch safety videos and perform duties following safety protocols.
• Answer incoming calls promptly and direct them appropriately.
• Assist in training new employees and other team members.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift and move items up to 25 pounds regularly, and over 25 pounds with assistance.
• Must be physically present at the store; regular attendance is required.
• Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
• Ability to push, pull, and lift materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
