Job Summary
The Customer Service Associate is a part-time position responsible for cashiering, customer service, light housekeeping, and general stocking.
Essential Job Functions
- Greet customers warmly and professionally, using customer-focused interpersonal skills such as smiling, making eye contact, assisting with locating items, and thanking customers for their business.
- Operate safely to prevent harm to oneself, customers, co-workers, equipment, and inventory.
- Handle checkout transactions accurately using cash registers and credit/debit card terminals, including processing sales, coupons, discounts, and handling cash.
- Make helpful product recommendations and identify opportunities to upsell additional merchandise or services.
- Answer customer inquiries via phone professionally, providing information on order status, product availability, sales, promotions, and store events.
- Replenish and face merchandise on shelves to maintain a tidy and appealing presentation.
- Monitor store entrances and exits to promote safety and security, escalating concerns to management as needed.
- Perform daily housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and welcoming environment, including cleaning, sweeping, mopping, trash removal, and dusting.
- Assist with other functions as needed to support the team.
- Perform all other assigned duties.
