Charles' Kitchen is seeking a friendly Cashier/Host to provide warm welcomes, take orders, and manage seating. The role offers schedule flexibility with both full-time and part-time opportunities and includes a free meal on each shift.

You will handle cash and card transactions, assist with promotions, and help maintain a clean dining area. Must be 18+ and legally eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and manage seating and guest needs.
• Conveys the appropriate and available menu items.
• Answer phones, keep seating areas clean, and restock as needed.
• Handle cash and credit transactions accurately.
• Assist in marketing, promotions and promotions information to guests.
• Clear and reset tables and manage guest wait times.
• Address guest complaints tactfully and escalate to management when needed.

Do you love Caribbean cuisines? Are you looking to work in a restaurant that allows schedule flexibility and growth opportunities? We’ll look no further; Charles' Kitchen is looking for reliable individuals to join their expanding team as a Cashier/Host.

Job Details:

• Starts at $12.00 per hour
• Restaurant closed on Sundays and Mondays
• Full-time and part-time available
• One free meal on each worked shift
• Paid winter break in December (usually 1-2 weeks)

Job Duties:

This position is responsible for ensuring all guests feel welcome, appreciated, and enjoy their dining experience. Core responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Greeting guest in a friendly manner. Monitors guests needs and the workflow of the restaurant orders and seating.
• Conveys the appropriate and available menu items.
• Performs restroom checks, answers phone, keeps seating areas clean of debris, and keeping the general work area stocked and cleaned.
• Practices safe food and beverage handling and always clean up and must be able to communicate and interact with guests, handle crowds and put guests at ease.
• Shows guests they care and ask them about their dining experience. Effectively handle guest complaints and involve manager at appropriate time.
• Take customer food orders and convey to chef for accurate order fulfillment.
• Handles cash and credit transactions; accurately accounts for all receivables including cash, credit cards, and gift cards.
• Assist in marketing, promotional services and situational selling, such as communicating new promotions, products or marketing information to guest.
• Clears, sanitizes and sets tables as needed.
• Manages customer lines by working with managers to quote accurate wait times.
• Handles customer complaints with tact and professionalism, turning dissatisfied guests into raving fans.
• All other duties as assigned.

Experience + Knowledge + Qualifications:

• Excellent customer service skills and experience.

• Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task.
• A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
• Must have ability to accurately handle money, make change, process credit card transactions, and have strong menu knowledge.
• Computer skills (POS system).
• Great communication and interpersonal skills.
• 0-2 years related experience.
• Strong knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in a restaurant.
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish tasks.
• Must successfully complete a criminal history background check.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
