Assist in the daily operations of the department. Has or acquires the knowledge to efficiently complete the daily procedures needed for departmental success. Stocks, prepares, packages, and maintains product for specific areas for retail sales. Assist Supervisors when requested and/or required.Essential Functions and Responsibilities:Perform at a high level of cashiering responsibilities on a daily basisDemonstrate accuracy in entering correct product codes, recording prices, cashier transactions, counting money, and giving changeRecognize customers’ needs and takes the initiative to react accordinglySet role modeling examples for cashieringListen and handle customer complaints/concerns in a controlled manner – directing them to the appropriate individualHas knowledge of products and their locationExhibit Teamwork by being flexible and dependable meeting the department needsRepresent the Co-op in a positive mannerUnderstand the importance of confidentialityRemain productive without direct supervisionHas ability to multi-task wellComplete all required department and Co-op trainingHas knowledge and training of phone system- knows how to answer, page, and transfer properlyServe as a mentor to new staff in the department (for those with more years of experience)Re-train staff as needed or requested, following set training programCheck Co-op email at least once per weekSet standard for expected behavior in adhering to all food safety proceduresAdhere to all Co-op policies, procedures and employee code of conductOther duties as assignedRequired Skills/Experience and Attributes:High school diploma or equivalentAbility to represent the Co-op in a positive mannerAbility to multi-taskProficiency in ECRS POS system and processesSet an excellent example for new employeesProficiency in use of computer software, Office 365, Excel and WordSuccessful completion of Co-op customer service trainingServe Safe certification acquired as neededExcellent follow throughEquipment Used:Computer register, scanner, adding machines, computer, knives, box cutters, U-boats, carts, and phone system.Attendance Requirements:Flexible hours, including weekend and evening shifts.
