Job summary

Goodwill West Texas seeks a customer-focused retail associate to uphold excellent service on the sales floor and at the cash wrap. You will handle transactions, assist customers, and support merchandising and loss prevention efforts.

The role requires reading and writing ability, retail experience is preferred, and physical tasks include standing, lifting, and moving donations. Training provided for store procedures.

Responsibilities

• Ensure every customer receives outstanding service by greeting and assisting customers on the floor and at the cash wrap.
• Accurately and efficiently complete all sales transactions, including discounts, taxes, and donations.
• Maintain store security and cash handling procedures, and balance drawer daily.
• Assist in merchandising, stock replenishment, and floor maintenance.
• Follow company policies for signage, pricing, and loss prevention.

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for maintaining excellent customer service, generating sales, housekeeping, merchandising, signage, accurate cash register operations and loss prevention in adherence to Goodwill-West Texas standards. Ensures an excellent customer experience throughout the sales floor and cash wrap.

Education / Experience

• Retail sales experience preferred
• Must be able to read and write

• Ability to accurately operate and balance cash register

Basic Mathematical Skills Required

• Ability to communicate appropriately with coworkers and customers
• Ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform their duties (POS, Scanner, etc)

RESPONSIBILITIES And DUTIES

• Ensure that each customer receives outstanding customer service by promoting a customer friendly environment. Greet, acknowledge and express genuine concern for customers and their needs. (E)
• Accurately and efficiently complete all sales transactions including discounts, tax exemptions, voids, cash donations, etc (E)
• Understand Goodwill Mission programs and follows the round up scripting to support the Mission. (E)
• Maintain security protocol regarding passwords and money handling (E)
• Accurately balance cash drawer, complete daily sales and deposit documentation. (E)
• Maintain knowledge of products, placement and pricing (E)
• Assist in floor moves, merchandising, display maintenance and store housekeeping (E)
• Assist in receiving and monitoring stock and processing and replenishing merchandise as necessary (E)
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures and practices including signage, pricing and loss prevention (E)
• Must be able to perform all aspects of donation process, including receiving donations
• Communicate appropriately and positively with co-workers and others (E)
