Job summary

El Super in Fresno, California is seeking a Checker for store #69 on Blackstone Ave. The role emphasizes fast, friendly service, accurate sales processing, and maintaining store standards. Open to workers aged 16-17, with the opportunity to grow within a family‑oriented grocery chain.

Starting rate is $16.50 per hour. Under direct supervision, you will assist customers, handle cash register operations, and help ensure a safe, efficient checkout experience in a busy store environment.

Qualifications

• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, product pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Maintain outstanding customer service per company standards, process sales quickly, accurately and efficiently.
• Perform cash register operations and safeguard company assets.
