Job summary

Brookshire Grocery Company is seeking a front-end associate to engage with customers, operate the checkout, bag groceries, and assist with locating products. You will verify prices, process transactions, and maintain a friendly, efficient shopping environment in a retail store setting.

The role requires basic cash handling knowledge, strong math skills, and the ability to learn our point-of-sale system, while upholding safety and company policies.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of cash register.
• Basic knowledge of tender policies and procedures.
• Basic mathematical and counting skills.
• Ability to learn new technology systems, methods and processes.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and partners in written and verbal form.

Responsibilities

• Ensures correct checkout totals by properly weighing, keying, and scanning items.
• Maintains accurate money count in register at all times.
• Assists customers with questions, locating products and promotions.
• Promotes enrollment in the Thank You Card program and assists with sign-up.
• Bags groceries, handles proper weight distribution, and prevents cross-contamination.
• Maintains clean, safe and presentable front-end areas and work environment.
• Complies with all company policies and safety procedures.
