Job summary

The Kroger Co. is seeking a frontline cashier/checker to create a positive customer experience at the Anchorage store. You will greet customers, assist with product inquiries, and manage checkout transactions efficiently.

You’ll operate the POS system, process a variety of tender types, follow policies, and stay updated with current ads and safety regulations. This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and treat customers with respect and integrity.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience.
• Effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).

Responsibilities

• Greet customers, engage and assist on the floor.
• Process transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the checkout.
• Understand POS system and handle various tender types according to policy.
• Follow cash handling guidelines and loss prevention rules.
• Adhere to item restrictions (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs) and pricing guidelines.
• Report pricing discrepancies and stay current with ads and promotions.
• Follow safety and food safety regulations; identify hazards and notify management.
