Position Summary

The primary location of this position is on-site in Cullowhee, NC. This position is designated as being subject to the State of North Carolina Human Resources Act ( SHRA ).

This position provides front-line cashiering and administrative support for the Bursar’s, Controller’s, and Student Accounts Offices. The role is responsible for processing departmental payments, balancing daily receipts, supporting compliance and records management activities, and assisting with office digitization and process improvement efforts. During periods of lower transactional volume, the position assists with scanning, documentation, PCI compliance, unclaimed receipt maintenance and follow-up, and other back-office initiatives that improve efficiency and internal control.

Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position

  • Deposit Handling: Basic knowledge of cashiering, payment processing, accounting practices, and financial record keeping.
  • Customer Service and Communication: Ability to provide professional customer service and communicate clearly with students, employees, and other customers.
  • Record keeping and Accuracy: Attention to detail and an ability to maintain accurate payment and office records using electronic and paper-based systems.
  • Organization and Time Management: Ability to organize work, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify discrepancies or missing information and take appropriate action.

Minimum Qualifications
