Job summary

Foodland Super Market, Ltd in Hawai`i is seeking a friendly cashier to provide fast and accurate checkout services in a busy front-end environment. You will handle money, bag orders, and assist shoppers with locating items while maintaining store cleanliness and a professional appearance.

Qualifications include being 18+, passing a math test and cashier training, TB clearance, and adherence to company policies.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide fast, friendly, and accurate check out services using computerized cash registers and handle money.
• Bag orders and assist shoppers in locating items in the store.
• Assist in cleaning and dusting check stands and surrounding areas.
• Maintain accuracy with basic math and product codes.
• Weigh, scan, and bag orders and perform cash audits as assigned.
• Maintain a neat, well-groomed appearance and observe dress code.
• Resolve service and product related customer issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

• providing fast, friendly, and accurate check out services for our customers using computerized cash register systems, handling and counting money
• often bag their customers' orders and help shoppers find items in the store.
• assist in the cleaning and dusting of the check stands and surrounding areas and may take “return” products back to proper shelf locations.
• Accuracy and basic math skills are important, as is the ability to memorize product identification codes and weekly ad specials.
• Weighing, scanning, and bagging orders
• Performing a cash audit of the contents in assigned cash drawer
• General maintenance, dusting, and cleaning of check stands and surrounding area
• Resolving service and product related customer service issues
• Maintaining a neat, well-groomed personal appearance, observing company dress code
• Abiding by all company policies and procedures
• Performing other duties and assignments as directed

Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age

• Most duties performed within Front End Department
• Work includes walking, standing for long periods, repetitive hand and arm movements, moderate to frequent lifting, bending, stretching, continuous interaction with customers and coworkers in a fast-paced environment
