Job summary

Foodland Super Market, Ltd. is hiring a part-time cashier in Kailua, HI. The role requires quick, friendly checkout service using a computerized register and accurate handling of cash and transactions.

Evening and weekend availability is strongly preferred, and relocation assistance is not provided. TB clearance and cashier training after hire are required, with a comprehensive benefits package offered for this hourly position.

Responsibilities

• Provide fast, friendly, and accurate checkout services using computerized cash registers.
• Bag orders and help shoppers locate items in the store.
• Assist in cleaning check stands and surrounding areas, return products to shelves.
• Maintain accuracy with math, memorize product codes and weekly ads.
• Weigh, scan, and bag orders; perform cash drawer audits.
• Maintain neat appearance and comply with dress code and company policies.
• Resolve customer service issues and assist with other duties as directed.

The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

• providing fast, friendly, and accurate check out services for our customers using computerized cash register systems, handling and counting money
• often bag their customers' orders and help shoppers find items in the store.
• assist in the cleaning and dusting of the check stands and surrounding areas and may take "return" products back to proper shelf locations.
• Accuracy and basic math skills are important, as is the ability to memorize product identification codes and weekly ad specials.
• Weighing, scanning, and bagging orders
• Performing a cash audit of the contents in assigned cash drawer
• General maintenance, dusting, and cleaning of check stands and surrounding area
• Resolving service and product related customer service issues
• Maintaining a neat, well-groomed personal appearance, observing company dress code
• Abiding by all company policies and procedures
• Performing other duties and assignments as directed

Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age
• High school education preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Must successfully pass math test
• Must successfully pass cashier training after hire
• TB Clearance required
• Must comply with all company policies and requirements
• Most duties performed within Front End Department
• Work includes walking, standing for long periods, repetitive hand and arm movements, moderate to frequent lifting, bending, stretching, continuous interaction with customers and coworkers in a fast-paced environment
