Job Responsibilities
  • Process customer transactions efficiently and accurately at checkout.
  • Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders including cash, checks, credit/debit cards, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures per company policy.
  • Adhere to company policies on cash shortages/overages and loss prevention.
  • Follow guidelines for restricted sale items such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs.
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
  • Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
  • Stay updated on current and upcoming promotions and advertisements.
  • Comply with all food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Support safety programs by following procedures and reporting unsafe conditions or incidents.
  • Maintain equipment through preventive inspections and report repairs needed.
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers by assisting with questions and providing excellent service.
  • Follow all applicable laws and company guidelines.
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
  • Manage conflicts professionally and cooperatively.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
  • Assist customers, including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
