Job summary

Rapid City Golden Corral is seeking a Line Person to serve guests, describe menu offerings, and maintain an inviting, inclusive dining environment. You will assist with to-go orders, greet guests, and help ensure smooth line operations in a fast-paced setting.

The role emphasizes friendly service, attentiveness, and accurate payment handling, with opportunities for daily interaction and contributing to a positive guest experience.

Responsibilities

• Describe all menu offerings and how the Golden Corral line ordering systems operates
• Ensure that line products are always available
• Handle payments accurately
• Process to-go orders and assist guests at the Buffet by the Pound station
• Be friendly and courteous on the phone
• Offer assistance to any guests who may need help
• Greet guests as they enter the restaurant and invite them to return
• Process to-go orders
• Know and follow position responsibilities as they relate to just-in-time delivery
• Know what is on buffet for the day and have knowledge of menu and prices
• Follow the Five Steps of Line Service
• Open and close the line area efficiently and quickly
• Bring equipment problems to the Manager
• Communicate cash levels to the Manager to reduce cash in drawer liability
• Assist with the buffet and Server area as directed
• Inform Manager when money in drawer should be taken to the safe to reduce risk of robbery
• Ensure drawer balances with daily paperwork
• Perform other functions to ensure guests have a pleasant dining experience
• Perform CSQ (Cleanliness, Service, and Quality) responsibilities
• Ensure smallwares are clean, dry, and available for guests
• Maintain organization and cleanliness at the vestibule, host/cashier station and surrounding areas
• Assist the Buffet Attendant when necessary
• Follow local health department laws
• Perform other functions to ensure guests have a pleasurable dining experience.

The Line Person’s primary responsibility is serving the guest. As one of the first Co-workers who has the opportunity to make a positive impression on the guest, the Line Person must be attentive, helpful, and pleasant in appearance and personality. The Line Person should treat all Golden Corral guests as if they were guests in his or her own home and sustain an environment that is inclusive and welcoming for all guests.

• Assists the Buffet Attendant when necessary.
• Follows local health department laws.
