Key Responsibilities:
  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the checkout lane.
  • Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures following company policies.
  • Adhere to company policies on cash shortages/overages and work to control loss.
  • Follow guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs.
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
  • Follow established procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
  • Stay current with promotional ads and offers.
  • Comply with all food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Reinforce safety programs, report unsafe conditions, accidents, or issues to management.
  • Perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repairs.
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions about products and store services.
  • Follow all relevant laws and company policies.
  • Work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment and manage conflicts professionally.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
  • Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
