Key Responsibilities:
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
- Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, offline SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures according to company policy.
- Adhere to company limits on cash shortages and overages, working honestly to control loss.
- Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
- Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
- Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
- Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures, identifying unsafe conditions, and notifying management.
- Perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repairs.
- Create a welcoming environment, answering questions about products within the department and store.
- Follow all local, state, and federal laws, and company guidelines.
- Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
- Manage conflicts in a reasonable, nonconfrontational manner.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.
- Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
- Perform essential functions of the role with or without reasonable accommodation.
