Job Responsibilities:

  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
  • Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders including cash, checks, credit/debit cards, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, and coupons, following company policy.
  • Adhere to company limits on cash shortages and overages, working honestly to control loss.
  • Follow guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs.
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
  • Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
  • Stay current with advertisements and promotions.
  • Comply with all food safety regulations and safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions or accidents.
  • Maintain equipment and notify management of repairs needed.
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers, answering questions about products throughout the store.
  • Follow all relevant laws and company policies.
  • Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
  • Manage conflict professionally and with integrity.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
  • Support and assist customers, including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
