Job Responsibilities:
  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
  • Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders such as Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, Offline SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures according to company policy.
  • Adhere to company limits on cash shortages and/or overages, working honestly to control loss.
  • Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
  • Follow policies and procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
  • Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
  • Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions or accidents, and notify management.
  • Inspect equipment regularly and report repairs needed.
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions about products.
  • Comply with all local, state, and federal laws, and company guidelines.
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
  • Manage conflicts in a reasonable, non-confrontational manner.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.
  • Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
