What You’ll do
The Cashier plays a vital role in delivering excellent customer service and ensuring smooth transactions. You will be the first point of contact, greeting customers, processing transactions accurately, and maintaining a welcoming store environment.
- Deliver outstanding service through clear communication and active listening.
- Greet customers warmly as they enter the store.
- Assist customers using the cashier script, and educate them about programs like the loyalty program, RK Visa, and RK Plus Protection Plan (RKPPP).
- Handle cash management, returns, layaways, and exchanges accurately following company policies.
- Communicate professionally and cheerfully with customers and team members.
- Provide product information and respond to customer inquiries, offering recommendations when appropriate.
- Coordinate with loaders to assist customers promptly.
- Process transactions efficiently, prioritize timely service, and resolve price disputes professionally.
- Stand at the designated area to assist customers when not engaged in transactions.
- Highlight benefits of the Rural King loyalty program, including offers, points, and personalized recommendations.
- Use the cashier script to engage customers during transactions.
- Introduce the Rural King Visa card benefits, such as exclusive offers and rewards.
- Answer incoming calls with proper etiquette, identifying the store and yourself professionally.
- Reconcile registers and file paperwork accurately.
- Deactivate EAS devices or spider wraps as needed.
- Remain aware of surroundings to prevent loss and provide excellent service.
- Perform cashier duties, including stocking, cleaning, and managing registers.
- Refill popcorn and coffee stations timely.
- Maintain cleanliness of carts and restrooms for a positive shopping experience.
- Operate general office equipment like phones, copiers, and computers.
- Participate in cross-training and learning initiatives to enhance skills.
- Provide friendly, proactive support to customers and team members.
