Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Customer service experience
  • Effective communication skills
  • Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)

Desired Previous Job Experience:

  • Customer service experience
  • Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk

Essential Job Functions:

  • Greet, engage and assist customers actively and visibly.
  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
  • Handle various tenders such as Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, and coupons according to company policy.
  • Adhere to cash handling limits and work to control loss.
  • Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
  • Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
  • Stay current with ads and promotions.
  • Adhere to food safety regulations.
  • Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
  • Inspect equipment regularly and report maintenance needs.
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers.
  • Comply with all relevant laws and company policies.
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment.
  • Manage conflict professionally and cooperatively.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when needed.
  • Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
