Key Responsibilities:
  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
  • Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures according to company policy.
  • Adhere to company policies on cash shortages and overages, and work honestly to control loss.
  • Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (alcohol, tobacco, DVDs).
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
  • Follow established procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
  • Stay current with advertisements and promotions.
  • Comply with all food safety regulations and safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions or incidents.
  • Maintain equipment through preventive inspections and report repairs needed.
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions and providing assistance.
  • Follow all applicable laws, regulations, and company guidelines.
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
  • Manage conflicts professionally and cooperatively.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
  • Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
