Responsibilities

What You’ll do

The Cashier plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring smooth transactional experiences. You will be the frontline representative of our brand, responsible for greeting and interacting with customers, processing transactions accurately, and maintaining a welcoming store environment.

• Deliver outstanding service through clear communication and active listening to exceed customer expectations.
• Greet customers with a friendly and welcoming demeanor upon entry.
• Assist customers through the transaction process using the Cashier script and educate them on programs like the loyalty program, RK Visa, and RK Plus Protection Plan (RKPPP).
• Manage cash, returns, layaway, and exchanges accurately following company policies.
• Communicate professionally and cheerfully with customers and associates.
• Provide product information and respond to basic inquiries, offering recommendations.
• Coordinate with loaders and respond promptly to customer requests for assistance.
• Execute transactions precisely, prioritize timely service, and resolve price disputes professionally.
• Stand in designated areas to assist customers when not engaged in transactions.
• Promote the Rural King loyalty program benefits, including offers, points, and personalized recommendations.
• Introduce the Rural King Visa card benefits, such as exclusive offers and rewards.
• Handle incoming calls with professional phone etiquette, identifying the store and yourself.
• Ensure register reconciliation and proper paperwork filing with high accuracy.
• Properly deactivate EAS devices or spider wraps as needed.
• Maintain awareness to prevent loss and deliver excellent customer service.
• Perform additional cashier duties such as stocking, cleaning, and managing registers efficiently.
• Refill stations, keep carts and restrooms clean, and ensure a positive shopping environment.
• Use office equipment and participate in cross-training for departmental flexibility.
• Engage in training programs, workshops, and webinars to develop skills.
• Provide friendly, proactive support to customers and team members.

• Perform other duties as assigned.
