Key Responsibilities:
  1. Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
  2. Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures per company policy.
  3. Adhere to company policies on cash shortages/overages and work to control loss.
  4. Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
  5. Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
  6. Follow established procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
  7. Stay informed about current and upcoming promotions and ads.
  8. Comply with all food safety regulations and guidelines.
  9. Support safety programs by following procedures and reporting unsafe conditions or incidents.
  10. Perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repairs.
  11. Create a welcoming environment for customers by assisting with questions about products.
  12. Follow all relevant laws and company policies.
  13. Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
  14. Manage conflicts in a reasonable, non-confrontational manner.
  15. Act with honesty and integrity in handling customer and business information.
  16. Follow directions and seek help when needed to resolve issues.
  17. Support and assist customers, including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  18. Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
