Job Responsibilities:
  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
  • Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders such as cash, checks, credit/debit cards, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures according to company policy.
  • Adhere to company policies on cash handling, restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs), and report pricing discrepancies.
  • Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons, and stay current with advertisements.
  • Comply with food safety regulations and safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions or accidents.
  • Maintain equipment and notify management of repairs needed.
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions and providing assistance.
  • Follow all applicable laws and company guidelines, including safety and legal standards.
  • Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment, managing conflicts professionally.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Support and assist customers, including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
