Key Responsibilities:
  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
  • Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders including cash, checks, credit/debit cards, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures per company policy.
  • Adhere to company limits on cash shortages/overages and work honestly to control loss.
  • Follow guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs.
  • Report pricing discrepancies and follow procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
  • Stay current with promotional ads and adhere to food safety regulations.
  • Reinforce safety programs, report unsafe conditions, and participate in preventive maintenance.
  • Create a welcoming environment by assisting customers and answering product-related questions.
  • Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment, managing conflicts professionally.
  • Maintain honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues effectively.
  • Support and assist vulnerable populations, including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
