Key Responsibilities:

• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
• Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders including Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, loyalty offers, and coupons, following company policies.
• Adhere to company policies regarding cash shortages and overages, and work to control loss.
• Comply with guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Stay current with advertisements and promotions.
• Follow all food safety regulations and safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions or incidents.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and report repairs needed.
• Create a welcoming environment for customers by assisting with product questions and ensuring they feel valued.
• Comply with all laws and company guidelines, including safety and legal standards.
• Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflicts professionally and uphold honesty and integrity in all dealings.
• Follow directions and seek help when needed to resolve issues.
• Support and assist customers, including minors, individuals with special needs, and seniors.
• Perform essential functions of the role with or without reasonable accommodations.
